Can we brag? We post these letters because our hearts overflow with love and gratitude for the recognition! Our pre-production team works so hard, our performers bring their all, and our leaders out-do themselves in creating the magic that inspires clients to write letters like the ones we received this morning….
Dearest Valerie,
What an honor to have you and your orchestra perform at my
daughter’s wedding. I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful
you made the wedding. You kept everyone up dancing and enjoying the entire time.
From the Hora (which I loved) to Earth, Wind and Fire, to all the kids
modern music, Michael Jackson (he was great!), to “American Boy”,
I can’t even name everything. Each singer and instrument were
absolutely perfect! Even the ceremony trio were fabulous.
I have been to many affairs and have seen many
good bands, but no one holds a candle to yours.
I am truly at a loss for words. People have called us to tell us that you have raised
the bar, and that you are what made the night an unbelievable success.
I feel so grateful and lucky that you were there with us, and that
we had the best music and performance from your band that I have
ever experienced.
Not only are you professional and a talented musician and artist, you are an absolute
pleasure to work with.
I will always remember what a wonderful night is was and the joy of having you
at the wedding and getting to know you.
I know words cannot accurately express what is in my heart,
but you have a very special place there.
With all my love and thanks for an unforgettable experience,
Dee, Robert, Melissa & AJ

Hi Sarah,
We just wanted to thank you soooo much for Saturday night...you did it again!! Somehow, if it is even possible, we all think you even topped the last wedding! You and your amazing band were all everyone could talk about…we are still getting calls and emails about you guys. The common theme has been “We didn’t feel like we were listening to a band, it was like being at the best concert!” You all made the night and we just wanted to thank you again for being so incredible and easy to work with. The whole family is seriously depressed that there aren’t anymore weddings in the near future!
So again, thank you for everything!
Love,
Jodie and Brian

Dear Sarah,
Just want to drop you a note to tell you how fabulous you were at Lindsay and Alex’s wedding. From the first moment Mark and I met you, we knew you were going to do a great job. But you far surpassed GREAT that night! Thank you for making the party so memorable for us. We keep watching the video to hear your great music. You set the tone for the evening. The crowd picked up your vibe and just went with it!!! So many people called us after the wedding to tell us what an amazing band you were. You made it comfortable for Samantha to get on stage and sing to their first dance and then you even invited her back again. You made it so comfortable, that Lindsay and Alex couldn’t stay off the stage. They just wanted to be near you and the band Again, thank you for making it such a memorable evening and we hope you will be available when our son Matthew gets married! Fondly,
Anna and Mark Coleman

Dear Valerie,
Once again, words fail me. There are actually no words that adequately express how grateful we are for your exquisite, elegant, and extraordinary talents.
Your outstanding performance surpassed all our expectations – it was magnificent! Each year that we work together, I am more and more impressed with your talent, musical abilities, flawless production, and constant charisma and charm. Your music is as beautiful as your friendship has been for at least the last 20 years. You have walked with us on our journey and helped us “reach for the stars” – each and every one of them.
We cherish your talent. We are grateful for your compassion and we treasure your friendship above all else. Please be sure that we do not take your kindness and generosity for granted, but rather we are eternally grateful.
Please accept our heartfelt appreciation for your Herculean efforts to always create a festive mood that makes everybody want to get up and dance the night away!! Thank you for helping create an unforgettable evening and a monumental success, especially for this milestone occasion for Jeffrey’s Foundation. This was truly a very special night, thanks to a very special friend like you. We love you for this and more….
You have been – and continue to be – music to our ears!
With love,
Vicki and Fred

Sarah,
I can’t find the words to truly express our gratitude and appreciation for making our wedding so spectacular. Our phone has not stopped ringing raving about you and your band. You said that you would rock the house and you weren’t kidding! And I truly can’t believe you pulled off our last minute requests! Also, thank you for your patient and advice as we planned the music and flow of the night. You guys are so amazing and I’m sure your phone will be ringing soon as more of our friends plan their weddings. You are all so unbelievably talented and we can’t wait to watch our video to hear it all over again.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Oh how we love these wonderful letters that convey appreciation and acknowledgement from our clients. How is it that each week is better than the next? In the words of Heather Small, yes I am proud!
The wedding was at Capitale on the lower east side of New York City. A grand yet charming venue, the polar opposite of a Manhattan hotel ballroom. Our bride wanted something very different for her wedding ceremony, she said she wanted a whole group of acoustic guitars. She didn’t know exactly what music she wanted, so I asked if I could surprise her, and she was more than happy to leave the repertoire selection us. This was the first time I played my original music for a wedding ceremony, and it sure went beautifully. We had three acoustic guitars, flute and keyboard. The flutist played clarinet during the bride’s request of “Sunrise, Sunset” in honor of her grandfather. For the pre-ceremony music we played some Beatles, some Alison Krause and some original jams. The music for the processional was “Prelude and Beyond” from my “Healing Music” CD.
Throughout the rest of the night we mixed up the music, mostly concentrating on uptempo and contemporary selections. Many of the guests were in their twenties, and the dance-floor was packed all night long. One of the interesting challenges about providing music for wedding receptions is how to engage all the different people at the same time. There are guests of all ages and tastes, and our goal is to have everyone up on the dance-floor partying together. I could probably write an entire book on how we do it, what goes into the choices we make, how spontaneous and instantaneous the decisions need to be. It is about party flow, understanding and working with group energy, intuition, and using music as a tool. Either which way, the night was amazing our bride and groom and their families were thrilled. Here are their comments on Sunday, the day after…

Boy, do we love getting thank you letters like this from our happy clients. This is what makes it all worthwhile! I especially appreciate the understanding of what goes on “behind the scenes” to create products like ours. Congratulations to Sarah and her band for another beautifully done event!

Hi Sarah!
We are back from Hawaii, it was incredible. I cannot thank you enough for the amazing job you and your band did for the wedding. I knew you would be amazing and I wasn’t let down in the least bit! Thank you so much for all of your support and bearing with me through the process. I know this is your job but you have truly taken it to a level I have never seen before. You are SO talented. I cannot wait to see the video and hear all of the music again, I just want to relive it all again! I especially can’t wait to hear our first dance song as it was so meaningful with you singing it. Please stay in touch as I have SO much enjoyed getting to know you. I would recommend you to anyone and everyone so if you ever need me in that regard please let me know as I would be the first to go up to bat for you guys! Please let Valerie know that she is one lucky lady to have such an incredible band under her belt.
Thank you again Sarah!!!

Valerie,
What a night is right! You and the Starlight Orchestra were truly awesome! From the moment you serenaded John and I to our first dance, to the father & daughter dance, to our final song of “New York, New York”-everything was incredible and amazing.
My friends are still talking about how great your orchestra was and that it made the wedding so fantastic!
The ceremony music was also excellent and so fitting for a wonderful, memorable marriage service. I had tears in my eyes walking down the aisle-I felt like I was in a movie!
Starlight is the best and I am so glad you were there for another important milestone in our lives. We will definitely send pictures and the video! Unreal!!!
Love,

I love New York, and I love doing parties in the incredible locations that Manhattan has to offer. From the grandeur of the stately hotels, to the striking venues that have been transformed from banks and churches, to chic and striking lofts and rooftops, New York has much to sing about. It is so special for me to perform at the Plaza Hotel, as I started my career there many years ago and have performed for countless weddings, charity galas and other parties, each one unique and breathtaking. We love adding music to each different segment of a wedding, starting with the area where guests first arrive. Music can and should be considered part of the design element, and is instrumental in setting the tone for the entire evening. For the wedding last Saturday night, we began playing as guests congregated in the foyer of the Terrace Room. Our harp, flute and bass delivered a medley of love songs in the style of Cole Porter and George Gershwin, until the Terrace Room doors opened.
With the addition of violins, the music for the wedding ceremony consisted of classical selections from Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto and Handel’s Water Music, with the bride and her father processing to Craig Armstrong’s “PM Love Theme” from the Movie “Love Actually”.
While we opened the ballroom with Starlight’s 17 piece band playing Big Band music, the first dance was Frank Sinatra’s arrangement of “Just The Way You Look Tonight”. Once everyone joined the bride and groom on the dance-floor , we revved it up and rocked out for the rest of the night combining Motown favorites with extremely contemporary selections from the Billboard Dance/Club Play chart. I knew this was going to be a great party, but I must admit to being surprised at how hot this crowd got, and how much intensity they inspired in my band. Of course, it is an ongoing cycle; the band brings an energy that encourages the crowd, and then the crowd gets excited, which kicks the heat up, and then the band instinctively gives more. The crowd feels this passion and responds with increased elation. On certain magical evenings this cycle just keeps accelerating, raising the level of performance AND the party to new heights, creating an experience which, in some way, moves and transforms us all. The wedding of Alexandra Linden to John Belletti at the Plaza Hotel was one such evening. Even the parents of the bride, Josephine and Tom Linden, were struck by the same thing, and wrote to me…
“Valerie, I knew that Alexandra and John’s wedding was going to be special – but never, did it realize the heights you were going bring the evening to – it was FABULOUS – like going to a concert in the garden. You are such a special friend to the Lindens – and such a talent. Our guests so enjoyed the evening – and when they talk about it – the first thing they mention is the orchestra. John and Alexandra tell me that the first person they saw after being actually married was you serenading them on your guitar – a moment they will never forget
Thank you, thank you and thank you
Now we need to get together one night and cook together – it would be a blast!
Josephine”
and from the Director of Catering at the Plaza.
“You guys were awesome.
Really amazing and the Lindens were thrilled.
Steve.”
and from me…
“Dear Josephine and Tom,
Wow, what a night! Thank you for your most wonderful notes. I too was blown away by the energy in the room last Saturday night! I think we all impressed ourselves! Thank you again for all the confidence you have had in me throughout the years. I recognize that it is your confidence, trust and vision that gives me the forum to present my brand of music and entertainment. I know that there are extra needs and budget we have in order to present this unusual ensemble, and I thank you for giving us the tools needed to make it happen!
As always, it is a privilege and a pleasure to be a part of your family’s happiest times and celebrations.
Much love to the Lindens (and now the Bellettis ) from the Starlight family!
Love, Valerie”

Hi, Sarah -
We just got back from our honeymoon and I felt compelled to write you immediately to let you know how completely blown away we were by you and your band. You guys were seriously incredible – not only did you sound amazing, but the energy and enthusiasm you had was unbelievable. Between the dancing and outfit changes – you guys totally rocked our wedding and words cannot fully express how thrilled we were to have you there. You completely exceeded our expectations, and believe me, they were high!
Even though our wedding was almost 3 weeks ago, we are STILL getting tons of raves about you from our guests. Many said you were by far the best band they have ever seen at a wedding. And these people have been to a lot of weddings.
We will definitely HIGHLY recommend you to any one looking for a band, and feel free to use us as a reference.
Best of luck to you in the future and thanks again!

We are STILL to this day receiving compliments about how fabulous our band was! I recommend you to everyone, and everyone asks me who was at our wedding because they saw first-hand that you are the best of the best! Thank you for such a wonderful wedding. You had everyone dancing the whole night and each song was a true performance! We loved working with you and can’t wait to see you again at another wedding!”

Happy Sigh from Valerie! It was another amazing event, another night where I look around and see people joyful, smiling, dancing, celebrating, being exuberant, loving life, letting loose, going wild! And next to me I see the world’s best performers and musicians with the most astounding charisma, passion, talent; the energy rising in swirls, tangible and enlightening, enlivening. The thing that is so hard to describe, to get across to people, is that there is TRULY NOTHING LIKE THIS PRODUCT IN THE WHOLE WORLD OF ENTERTAINMENT! Where can you find a performance so exciting, so polished and sharp and yet still organic and flexible, THAT IS COMPLETELY GEARED FOR PRIVATE EVENTS? Talent of this magnitude is usually reserved for touring headline acts; Rod Stewart or Diana Krall doing cool jazz standards with a stage full of trumpets, trombones and saxes; Black Eyed Peas with their different characters presenting their “positive hip-hop” dance hits; Lady Gaga or Madonna whose shows include awesome backup singers/dancers; Bon Jovi rocking out their old and new, Beyonce, Jay-Zee, Alicia Keys, whose shows feature the best of their material with strong backline support and many guest surprises; and the always favorite Earth, Wind and Fire who energize the stage and dazzle crowds with their heartfelt song and expressive dance. You can find those acts on arena stages throughout the world, but what you can’t find anywhere is an ensemble that delivers all of that music AND MORE, performed in a similar style with the same kind of STAR POWER, but that will customize the repertoire for each and every event; can down-play, up-play, down-size, can segueway seamlessly like the best DJ, gliding between genres in a unprecedented way; reading the crowd and switching gears, intuitively designing the play-list IN MOTION to deliver the material that is perfect for this audience, this night, in this moment. No filler songs, no monologues, just song after song, energy building and mounting, all within the parameters of music for a private party. Not a show, not a concert, just truly the World’s Best Party Band, The Starlight Experience. Once you have seen this live, it all makes sense. But words cannot describe it, videos will not capture it, testimonials do not do it justice. The comments might make it sound like it is “too much,” or “over the top,” or “a show not a band…” but people who have actually experienced this product NEVER say that! It is just the Best of the Best, time and time again.
I am gratified when we are in different cities and we work with various producers, event planners, booking agents, and people always say, “There is really nothing like this product anywhere!” It is so true, and I am excited for even more people to know this; Starlight has created an entertainment concept that is unparalleled and unrivaled, bridging the worlds of Live Music for Private Events and Headline Entertainment. It is for those discerning clients that want to present something astounding, within the parameters of what is sensible and appropriate for a private event.
“Hi Starlight! There are no words to explain the night – NO WORDS – because I listened to Valerie’s suggestions, the music (other than the bride and groom), was talked about the most! You will absolutely be getting calls, but what they won’t realize is that all the extras made it more than “just a band” and therefore, over the top, in the best way!! Clintons will never know what they missed – Greenbergs will never forget what they had!! Thank u so much!
With Love,
Lorie Greenberg”
